Transportation that is good for the planet is good for all people! Originally named Transport 2000 Canada, Transport Action
was founded in 1976 as a registered charity, and is
a national federation of citizen volunteers working to advance the
public
interest in transportation of all modes.
We are involved in research, public education and advocacy of public transport
issues. We regularly make news talking about issues such as urban transit and urban planning, pedestrian and cyclist issues, disability issues, passenger rail, inter-city and rural bus, the abandonment
of railway lines, air safety, and
related environmental topics.
Membership in Transport Action is open to everyone and includes users and
consumers from across Canada. Municipal, provincial and federal agencies
and departments, labour unions, companies and interest groups are also
included.
Membership in Transport Action Canada automatically will give you access to your regional news. Our quarterly Western Newsletter keeps far-flung members
aware of actions and ideas. The National
Newsletter brings a wider view of transport issues on the national and international stage. Both keep you connected and up to date on the work being done - at home and abroad. Both welcome input from our diverse members!
